Spent the morning in the ER today. On the way to church, Jared started having excruciating pain in his back and side. It got so bad that we ended up at the hospital. Turns out, he had a kidney stone- which apparently is the worst pain a man can experience. The ER doc told us that women say it is worse than labor! Anyways, I have never seen Jared in so much pain; it made me cry. Luckily, they gave him pain meds which helped so much and he passed it through the ureter relatively quickly. They did a cat scan to make sure and we saw it sitting there in his bladder. That's the good news. The bad is that we saw 4 other stones sitting there in his kidney, that could be released at anytime. Maybe this week, maybe next year, maybe never. One of them was 2.5 x bigger than the one from today.
Anyways, Jared's doing fine now and we are counting our blessings that he is better and that we live next to an awesome hospital. Although, I do not want to go back there until Baby Girl comes in September!

Oh no, I'm sorry to hear about that! Poor guy, you are in our prayers. You have a beautiful house by the way! And I also just read you were having a girl! Congrats! We love our girl, they are so much fun!
What some people will do to get out of coming to church!
So sorry! My mom is having kidney stone issues right now. Typically the stones are about the size of a grain of sand, or a BB at worst. One of the 5 stones they found in my mom was the size of a grape!!! They had to sandblast it into like 15 pieces. YIKES!
Poor Jared though! Hope those pain meds keep coming!!!
Ok, is it terrible that I am cracking up because you titled this post "Jared's Rock Garden" I mean I'm glad he's ok, but I was wondering why there were no pictures of this "garden" until I read it. I'm a little behind on my reading. :)
