Camping- Horseshoe Bend

We went camping for the first time as a family on Friday.  We hope it will be the first of many times this summer.  Since this was our first time, we expected that we'd be working out some kinks.  To be honest, the trip was a little worse than we expected.  It took us about 3 hours to set up camp (first time setting up the tent, setting up the lantern, etc) and to cook dinner.  We opted for fajitas and they really would have been good if Jared didn't accidently overseason them.  Like by a lot.  Not edible.
Unfortunately, in an effort to be healthy and not overeat, I didn't pack other snacks besides some granola bars.  So, that's what we had for dinner.  Next time we go, this will NOT be a problem!  I will prepare for dinner failures. :)

As for important things that I forgot, there was only one.  Wet wipes.  Which is a problem when you have 2 kids in diapers and are trying to clean dirty hands and feet.

Our kids LOVED being outdoors.  Suz struggled at night though.  But that is because by the time morning came, she had her FIRST TOOTH.  Unfortunately, that tooth kept all of us (minus Noah) up for over half of the night.

If any of you readers would like to join us camping this summer, let us know!  We would love to go together!  I'm sure Suzy will be better next time.  Don't let that hold you back.  It's not going to hold us back!  We'll be back in the woods next weekend.

Fun! So the FIRST time we went camping as a family with Adelaide in our family, she cut her First tooth that night too! Crazy. It was that trip when you hiked Stewart Falls with us without Jared. Yeah she was like 7 1/2 months old, so pretty similar cousins! Glad you had fun! =)
