This Week

Real creative title, huh?

This week has been interesting to say the least. I have to say that I'm thrilled that it is Friday! Noah was sick all week. The doctor said he had a cold. He also got shots yesterday. However, despite being sick, here are some of the things Noah has learned this week:
  • combat crawl to any room in the house in lightning speed

  • pull himself up in his crib

  • run if you hold his little hands

  • to poo (he's had a constipation problem)

  • stand at the window (it's all he ever wants to do)

Noah stats:
  • 8 months old today!
  • 12 lbs 13 oz (I'm trying so hard to get him to gain weight. He's not a big eater (prefers his bottle), but we're working on it. I'm sadly aware that he's the size of a 2 or 3 month old)
  • 26 inches tall
  • Not even on the charts for height or weight

Something else we did this week was decorate Jared's office. It needed a makeover. I was so proud of myself for doing everything with a $50 budget. I'm only posting pictures of two walls, but there's also a big mirror and 2 framed 8X10's from our wedding.

13.1 miles

We're so excited! We just signed up for our first 1/2 marathon as a couple. The race is in Joplin, Missouri on June 13th. My little sister, Kallie will do it also. She is moving to Arkansas for the summer. (Hooray!) We ran a race together when I first got off my mission. It was awesome. We ran the entire race side by side (as we discussed) until the finish when out of nowhere I got some mad sprint in me. I booked it and left my sister in the dust. I felt so bad because I kinda held her back during the rest of the race. She would start going really fast and I would say, "Hey, let's slow down." I promise I won't do that this time, Kallie!

Jared and I both love running and I do so much better when I have something to train for. The timing is perfect too- one month after we come back from Cancun (intense training=beach bodies. nice bonus!) We just scored a jogging stroller from some friends that didn't need it. Besides that and waking up early to go to the gym, I think I'll be set. As soon as Jared's foot heals (see last post), he will start training too.

Wish us luck!!! :)

RANDOM

Things have been a little RANDOM lately.

These two pictures would not flip around. I deleted them and reloaded them, but they just want to be on their side. I guess it goes w/ my random post.

Noah is teething big-time. He has 3 on the bottom and is working on getting one on the top. This one must really be hurting him because he is a little fussy...NOT NORMAL for Noah.

Our little buddy has also started scooting. He gets faster and stronger each day. He also learned BA BA and DA DA and sings his new little words all day long.

Jared and I have been training for a half marathon in June. However, Jared pushed too far, too fast and is now dealing with what we think is a stress fracture in his foot. He's having a hard time even walking around. :( I hope he heals quickly so we can both still do the race.

I'm still staying busy at home, but cannot believe how much I clean. NON STOP CLEANING! It never ends. I can't wait until we are rich and I can hire a maid. It's not that I don't like cleaning, but I like doing other things also!
Oh well, Happy Monday!!!

Stay at Home Mom

For those of you that don't know, I got laid off about 2 weeks ago from my job at the Wal-Mart Home Office. Don't cry for me- I still get paid until the end of April. Plus, I realized how much I like staying at home w/ Noah. To be honest, before I started working, I didn't really enjoy staying at home because in the back of my mind, I always thought that I wasn't meant to. I felt like I would excel in the corporate environment and that staying home was holding me back from my "true dreams." HA! After my short experience working, I fully realize that my place is in the home. I'm truly content here and am having so much more fun then I have ever had! I'm becoming more domesticated...aka: trying new recipies, tackling home projects, reading more, hanging out w/ other moms, etc. Noah and I leave the house everyday to go on different adventures: the library, car wash, shopping ( I LOVE the new Target in Rogers!), walks, & play groups to name a few.
We are seriously lovin' life!!!

Breakfast IN Bed

This morning, Jared made me breakfast in bed. Homemade waffles. He does it every once in a while- just because.
He's so sweet.
While I was busy enjoying my waffle w/ chocolate chips (a must if we don't have strawberries and whip cream), Noah was busy figuring out how to OPEN the chocolate chip canister. It's really not that easy to open. Even after you unclasp it, the lid is suctioned shut and to open it, you really have to pull hard.

We have a smart and strong little boy!

Oops! How do you like that chocolate chip in his ear?

There's that mischevious grin.

"I have chocolate chips all over me and Mommy's nicest sheets, but I'm still cute!"

The nakey picture so you can see the damage done. Classic.
